Rain abandoned West Indies, New Zealand ODI AUCKLAND: The fourth one-day cricket international between New Zealand and the West Indies was abandoned because of rain here Saturday leaving the series tied 1-1 with one game to play.

New Zealand, sent into bat first, made 275 for four and the West Indies were 64 without loss chasing a revised target of 235 from 40 overs when rain sent the players off the field for the second and final time.

The first match in the series was also abandoned because of rain, the West Indies won a rain-shortened second match and the third match, won by New Zealand in Wellington last Wednesday, is the only game to go the full distance. The fifth and final match in the series is in Napier on Tuesday.
