 ANP, PML-N begin talks on renaming of NWFP

ANP, PML-N begin talks on renaming of NWFP ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-N and Awami National Party have initiated negotiations on the issue of renaming NWFP.

The first round of talks was held in Punjab House, Islambad in which Sartaj Aziz, Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, Saranjam Khan, Pir Sabir Shah and Nasir Khan represented PML-N while Haji Adeel, Afrasyab Khatak, Zahid Khan, Jamila Gilani and Latif Afridi were from ANP side.

PML-N was of the view that the name of NWFP province should be changed through consensus and the new name should reflect representation of all the population living in the province.

The delegation of ANP welcomed the support of PML-N over the renaming of NWFP, saying an undisputed name be proposed for the province.
