KARACHI: The consumption of petroleum products during July-December current fiscal year declined by 4 percent.
Industry sources told that the consumption of petroleum products during the first six months of the current fiscal year remained at 86,28,000 tons as against 89,86,000 tons in the same period previous year. Light diesel oil consumption during the period under review dropped most by 36 percent, but contrary to it JP-1 consumption rose by 4 percent, whose main reason was the Hajj season also. High-speed diesel consumption fell by 6 percent due to decline in Kerosene consumption by 20 percent, fall in import, export and Afghan plus Nato cargo etc. Besides petrol consumption shrank by 7 percent and HOBC at 15 percent.
