Govt. first priority is to fight militants: President Zardari ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari said on Monday that our first priority was to fight the militants to establish the writ of government so that investors’ interests could be safeguarded.

He said this at a briefing given by economic exports of Planning Commission here. Panel Chairman Dr. Hafiz Pasha gave the briefing.

Several federal ministers, including Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Shaukat Tarin, Sherry Rehman, Nazar Muhammad Gondal, Waqar Ahmed Khan and other high-level officials also attended the briefing.

The President said that issues relating to the investors’ interest and circular debt would be given the utmost priority for economic stability. “Micro-economic indicators, energey crisis and rehabilitation of the most vulnerable section of society are the biggest economic challenges before the government,” he added.

Zardari directed the advisory panel to step up the process to increase employment opportunities in the country. He urged the panel to utilize alternative resources of energey for ending the looming energy crisis.
