| Swine flu claims 14 lives across country: NIH|

ISLAMABAD: National Institute of Health (NIH) has said Wednesday at least 14 persons have fallen victims to H1N1 influenza virus, commonly known as Swine flu, all across Pakistan according to latest tally, Geo news reported.
The Executive Director NIH Dr. Barjees Mazhar Qazi told media here in federal capital that a total of 168 Swine flu cases have so far been ascertained all across country while another 650 suspected cases have come to surface.
2 patients in Islamabad, 8 in Punjab, 2 in NWFP and 1 in Azad Kashmir have died of H1N1 influenza virus while another person, meeting the same fate, belonged to Afghanistan, he confirmed.
According to Punjab Health Ministry, one under treatment patient – a 26-year-old pregnant lady – at a private hospital here in Lahore, has also lost her life to same virus who was admitted to hospital some 5 days ago.
