 KARACHI: President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Asma Jehangir Saturday said the position she was currently holding was a lot higher in importance than governorship of any of the four provinces and that she would out-rightly reject if any such offer is made to her.
She was talking to media men after she along with her delegation met with President Asif Ali Zardari here at presidential camp office in Bilawal House.
Asma Jehangir made it clear to the media that the purpose of the meeting with the President was to discuss matters relating to the platform of SCBA and added that she would meet anyone and everyone in a bid to resolve the issues of the association she represents.
“Supreme Court Bar and lawyers stand with the democratic government,” she asserted, adding that no dictator would be accorded any kind of support.
She described the bar-bench relations as good. However, she said that the Bar had some reservations on the procedure of appointment of superior judiciary. |
