KARACHI: The ex-mill sugar price has witnessed a further increase of Rs1 a kilogram and as a result its price has climbed to Rs77.50 a kilo in whole sale market, Geo News reported Friday.
The commodity is being sold at Rs80-82 per kg in retail market, market sources said.
According to experts, the country produced 3 million tons sugar this year compared to its demand of 4.2 million tons. As a result, Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) finalized transactions for importing 1.2 million tons sugar. |
