Death toll in Orakzai blast climbs to 55 PESHAWAR: The death toll in Orakzai jirga suicide blast mounted to 55 Saturday, with several others still in critical condition.

According to sources, death toll in yesterday’s suicide attack in Orakzi Agency during jirga has increased to 55, while scores are still in critical condition.

Fifty-four out of 55 dead were identified and they were being buried in different areas. About 13 belonged to a same area called Deri. However, one body was not identified yet.

Eyewitnesses said that about 40 people died on the spot and Hadizai hospital, whereas, 15 injured lost their lives at Kohat and Hangu Hospitals.

A Jirga member Anar Gull told that jirga was devising strategy to launch strike against militants when the suicide bomber blew himself up in the jirga.
