Army solicited for Orangi by-polls KARACHI: The government of Sindh has sought Ministry of Defence to sanction the deployment of Pak Army for October 17 by-elections in PS-94 Orangi Town, Geo News reported Thursday.

According to the sources, the Sindh government made this request on the directives by Chief Election Commissioner Justice (rtd) Hamid Ali Mirza.

It should be mentioned here that the seat vacated after the Raza Hyder, an MPA of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was killed.

Chief Election commissioner yesterday presided over a meeting to review the arrangements for by-polls set on October 17.

According to the sources, the Commission declared at least 64 polling stations ‘sensitive’ and 22 ‘extremely sensitive’ and advised foolproof security arrangements.
