India-Australia first ODI abandoned due to rain

Updated at: 1620 PST,  Sunday, October 17, 2010
KOCHI, India: The first one-day international between India and Australia was abandoned without a ball being bowled on Sunday due to bad weather.

The start was delayed by a wet outfield at the Nehru stadium in Kochi caused by incessant rains over the past week, before another spell of rain forced the game to be cancelled.

The remaining two one-dayers will be played in Visakhapatnam on October 20 and Goa on October 24.

India swept the Test series 2-0.
