 KSE hits fresh lows
Updated at: 1753 PST,  Monday, October 20, 2008
KSE hits fresh lows KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange failed to begin this week with an improvement in trade activity, as the benchmark KSE-100 Index closed at 9,184, showing almost no change.

with a change of just 0.51 points.

Trade volume remained squeezed as only 177,000 shares exchanged hands.

The broader market was also subdued. Out of 36 active scrips, 22 remained unchanged while 8 advanced and 6 declined.

Experts say trade activity has been limited to off-market transactions where scrips are trading at discounts of 15 to 20 percent.

KSE management has also created a temporary 'sell-out' window to facilitate investors seeking liquidity before the floor is removed on October 27.
