35 Taliban, 3 police killed in Afghan attack KANDAHAR: About 35 Taliban-linked militants and three police were killed after a rebel attack on a district centre in southern Afghanistan, a provincial police chief said Wednesday.

Heavy fighting started late Tuesday and lasted into early Wednesday after the insurgents launched the attack in Uruzgan province, police chief Juma Gul Hemat told foreign media.
