 Power supply restored in parts of Karachi

Power supply restored in parts of Karachi KARACHI: Karachiites suffered the third major power breakdown this week here on Wednesday.

Karachi airport and all important officials installations were deprived of the electricity for half an hour over breakdown. However, power supply to most of the areas was restored after an hour.

According to the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC), two extra high tensions lines connecting Baldia Grid Circuit through Jamshoro tripped due to overloading, resulting in suspension of power supply from Bin Qasim Power Plant and Kanup.

KESC spokesman Kashif Afridi told that 950 MW of electricity from four units of Bin Qasim Power Plant was immediately restored after the breakdown. He said that grid stations were being restored gradually.

The spokesman further said that 70 per cent of the area would get electricity after 3pm. he hoped that power supply would be restored completely by 7pm.
