6 extremists held amid police, CID action in Charsadda CHARSADDA: At least six extremists including three commanders were arrested during joint action carried out by police and CID here on Wednesday, recovering armaments from their possession, Geo news reported.

According to DPO Charsadda Muhammad Riaz Khan, in Kandray area of Shabqadar tehsil of Charsadda, police and CID launched crackdown on extremists on the intelligence of their presence there and arrested six extremists along heavy armaments including three commanders.

He said, “Local people lent police-CID joint teams helping hand during exchange of fire between two sides ahead of arrests”.

All the arrested extremists were said to be hailing from Swat and Shangla areas who were later identified as Umar Wahid, Murad Ali and Muhammad Amin – the militants’ commanders, he added.
