 EC restores membership of another 15 MPs

 ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan on Friday restored membership of another 15 members of Parliament following their submission of statements of assets and liabilities.

The Election Commission had suspended the membership of as many as 148 members of Parliament recently on their failure to submit statements of assets and liabilities as required under rules.

"Former justice Hamid Ali Mirza, Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan has restored the membership of three Members of National Assembly and twelve members of Provincial Assemblies of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan as all these Members have now filed their statements of assets and liabilities and have fulfilled the legal requirement," says a press release.

Among the Members of National Assembly whose membership has been restored by the Commission include Shahzada Muhyuddin of NA-32 Chitral, Rana Nazir Ahmad Khan of NA-99 Gujranwala-V and Rana Abdul Sattar of NA-112 Sialkot-III.

Among the members of Punjab Assembly include Muhammad Fayyaz elected from PP-25 Jhelum-II, Muhammad Awais Aslam Madhana of PP-31 Sargodha-IV, Ch Rana Shamim Ahmed Khan of PP-124 Sialkot-IV, Naseer Ahmad of PP-155 Lahore-XIX, Syed Abrar Hussain Shah of PP-173 Nankana Sahib-IV (Old Sheikhupura-XII), Sardar Aamir Talal Gopang of PP-261 Muzaffargarh-XI and Dr. Amna Buttar elected on reserve seat for women.

The members of the Sindh Assembly whose memberships have been restored include Syed Ghulam Shah elected from PS-75 Dadu-II (Old Dadu-V) and Qazi Shams Din of PS-80 Sanghar-Cum-Mirpurkhas-I (Old Sanghar-III).

Among the members of Balochistan Assembly whose memberships have been restored include Muhammad Ismail Gujar elected from PB-3 Quetta-III, Engineer Zamrak Khan of PB-12 Killa Abdullah-II and Uzma Ahad elected on reserve seat for women.
