Tendulkar lied in Sydney Test conflict: Gilchrist
Updated at: 1530 PST,  Friday, October 24, 2008
Tendulkar lied in Sydney Test conflict: Gilchrist SYDNEY: Former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist has blamed Indian star player Sachin Tendulkar of lying during Sydney Test conflict.

A four-Test series is going on between India and Australia in India these days and no unpleasant incident has occurred so far during this series.

However, former Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist blaming Tendulkar of lying in his autobiography made the situation tense for both teams.

He wrote in his book that after Harbhajan Singh called Andrew Symonds monkey, Tendulkar first said that he did not hear anything and later he said that Harbhajan had used a Hindi word but its pronunciation looked as he said ‘monkey’.

Gilchrist said that he did not expect this from a man like Tendulkar.

He further said that the Australians settled their issues in the ground but Indians take it to dressing room and their attitude, particularly of Tendulkar and Harbhajan, is very indecent.
