Overnight violence leaves 5 dead in Karachi KARACHI: At least five people lost their lives and another three including a policeman suffered injuries during incidents of shooting in separate localities here over the last 12 hours, Geo News reported.

According to reports reached this office, unknown armed men gunned down a man in Korangi Town.

Another elderly man was shot to death near a railway track in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. The deceased was identified as Imran (45) son of Ghulam Hassan, a local vendor. Police said the incident was a target killing.

Unidentified assailants opened fire on Kamran Qadri (45), killing him on the spot near Chuna Bhatt. The murder site lies in the jurisdiction of Risala police station. The motive behind killing has yet to clear.

Spokesman Sunni Tehreek (ST) said the deceased was their party’s activist.

In Nazimabad early in the morning, some unknown veiled-face attackers barged into a house and opened fire at Mohammed Ayyub Khan (43) in Kausar Colony. The victim was left dead in his house.

In the limits of Zaman police station near Korangi 100 Quarters, unknown gunmen shot dead a youth, Abdullah (20).

In two different incidents of shooting, a policeman sustained injuries near Al-Asif Square in New Karachi while two more youths were injured in Machar Colony.
