Resolution of power crisis will take time: PM
Updated at: 1940 PST,  Sunday, October 26, 2008
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani Sunday said if the power crisis could be overcome by purchasing electricity it would have taken only a single day to solve the problem.

Addressing a press conference here, the Prime Minister underlined the need for setting up proper infrastructure to deal effectively with the problem of power shortage and resulting load-shedding. It will take some time before we can overcome the power crisis, he added.

Regarding operation in the tribal areas, he said the army has gone there to fight terrorists on the request of the government. The international organizations are extending support for training the personnel of law enforcement agencies, he told the newsmen.

“The terrorists follow no religion…. they are no better than cancer for a country and its nation.” Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said.

He said the attacks carried out by drones are creating difficulty in the ongoing war against terror.
