PESHAWAR: Tremors of earthquake were felt in various parts of Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw including Peshawar and its adjoining areas, Geo News reported Thursday.
According to Meteorological Department, the intensity of the quake was 5.6 of magnitude on Richter Scale.
These tremors were felt in various parts of the province including Mansehra, Murree, Muzaffarabad, Abaottabad, Balakot, Swat, Lower Dir and Peshawar.
The tremors were short-lived for ten seconds, according to Met Department.
According to Met Department official Muhammed Riaz, the epicenter of the quake lies 280 kilometers northeast of Peshawar in Afghanistan and Tajikistan, adding there could be series of aftershocks possibly during the next couple of days. |
