 ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) will meet on Friday to review the proposed increase in wheat support price, Geo News reported.
Sources privy to Finance Ministry told Geo News the meeting would mull over proposed increase of Rs.50 per 40 kilogram in wheat support price.
After increase, wheat support price would then stand at Rs.1000 per 40 kilogram.
Also, the committee would chalk out an especial relief package for flood-hit farmers.
Growers’ flood package may include free of cost provision of DAP fertilizer besides; the ECC would be presented financial review of first quarter of the current fiscal year.
The stock of wheat, rice, sugar and urea fertilizer may be discussed, sources said. |
