LONDON: A suspicious package was found at a distribution centre at Britain's East Midlands airport on Friday and was being checked as a precaution, police said.
"The airport continues to operate as normal," police said.
The airport is close to Nottingham in central England.
Britain's Department for Transport said it was unaware of any incident in London but knew about the East Midlands incident.
Earlier, CNN reported that an ink toner cartridge converted into a bomb was found aboard a United Parcel Service flight traveling to Chicago from Yemen.
