Updated at: 2022 PST,  Saturday, October 03, 2009
PESHAWAR: Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) chief Muhammed Qasim Khan Saturday said the NWFP is facing power shortfall of 785 Megawatts.

Talking to media here, he said NWFP’s power demand is 2800MW, adding Peshawar suffered from power outages during the last some days, as various towers of Sheikh Muhammedi Grid station were being repaired.

Muhammed Qasim Khan said the Pesco is facing 35 percent line losses; while, the company annually suffers loss of Rs7 billion in power stealth and non-payment of bills.

He said there are 65000 cases registered in connection with the power stealth; however, no action has been taken on these cases, as the government did not provide security.
