Troika meetings not merely for photos session: PM LAHORE: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, reacting to PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif, has said that mere photo session is never a purpose of meetings of President, PM and Army Chief and that the government will safely move past October 13.

He was talking to the media men during a meeting with the print and electronic media representatives here Sunday.

Regarding the court hearing on 13th October, the Premier said that the government would complete its constitutional term, referring to a dictum, "The time shall pass away".

He said the federal government believes in cooperation and reconciliatory attitude towards the judiciary as well as other institutions, saying that it would accord more independence and strengthen the institutions in the country.

Talking to the media men during a meeting with the print and electronic media representatives here Sunday, he said the government was duty-bound to the directions of the courts adding that it had submitted a review petition in the apex court regarding the Swiss cases and all must wait for the decision.

About the Pak Army's role in the flood relief efforts, he said that everyone should commend the role of Army in the flood relief adding that army is the government.

Gilani said Army was a highly professional and pro-democracy institution and people should not run away with the misconception that they are two parallel types of government.

Commenting on the foreign media speculations regarding the Prime minister, President and army Chief meetings, the premier said the meetings pertain to routine national issues as well as defence related matters and all should have complete confidence in the army.

To a query about the suspension of NATO supplies, he said the suspension is spurred by certain security precautions while the NATO forces have already apoligized for the misadventure as demanded by the Pakistan government.
