14 daily-use items’ prices went up last week KARACHI: The prices of daily-use items in the week ending October 30 as compared to the same period last year surged by 29.79 percent.

Federal Statistics Department released data showed that the price-hike rate for low- income group last week as compared to same period last year soared by over 31.72 percent. It further said that in the week ending October 30, prices of 14 out of 53 items of daily-use rose, 19 declined, while those of 20 items’ remained stable. Tomato, potato, tea, soap, firewood, pulse Mash, pulse Masoor, meat, chicken, eggs and baked bread prices also increased during this period.
