Updated at: 2122 PST,  Sunday, October 04, 2009
PML-N sees pre-poll rigging by govt in Gilgit-Baltistan ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-N has leveled allegation of pre-poll rigging in Gilgit-Baltistan against the government.

Addressing a news conference here, PML-N leader and member Gilgit-Baltistan election committee, Siddiqul Farooq alleged that the government is putting in excessive use the resources and administrative power in Gilgit-Baltistan ahead of the upcoming elections. Transfers and postings on government’s sweet will are also being undertaken, making the electoral process controversial, he added.

He alleged that bogus electoral lists are being prepared and the appointment of Qamar Zaman Kaira as governor is also a part of the rigging.

Siddiqul Farooq said the Gilgit-Baltistan package is incomplete.
