 175 MW production suspended from Tarbela Power Plant

175 MW production suspended from Tarbela Power Plant GHAZI: Technical fault in Unit 4 of Tarbela Power Station (TPS) has suspended 175 MW power production.

According to Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Unit 4 of TPS has developed technical problem due to which power productions has been shutdown from the affected unit suspending 175 MW power supply.

WAPDA sources said that state of emergency has been declared immediately after the technical fault came up. Repairing work has been started; however the fault could not be traced after the passage of four hours.

The same unit had also developed a major fault some three years ago, the sources added.

Meanwhile due to the fault in the unit the power production capacity from the National Grid Stations is down by 175 MW.
