Autonomous Directorate established for anti-land grabbing: Sharmila KARACHI: An autonomous anti-land grabbing and anti-land encroachment directorate has been established which will cost government 1.97 million rupees, said PM advisor Sharmila Farooqi in a statement of Monday.

In her statement, she said more than 2 million housing units will be required every year continuously within next 50 years according to the statistics of United Nations.

Keeping in view the UN’s estimations, the PPP government is taking serious steps for provision of houses for poor people, she remarked.

“President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani are following the policies of PPP of provision of Roti, Kapra and Makan to deserving people”, she maintained, adding, “Rs.2 million have been allocated for construction of 1 lack houses for homeless people across Sindh as per the announcement of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah.”
