ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Javed Hashmi has said that former president Pervez Musharraf’s statement is on record in which he admitted issuing threats to Nawab Akbar Bugti and him (Javed Hashmi).
“Now, if Pervez Musharraf has courage, he should come back and face the trials,” he asserted.
He said the details of Kerry-Lugar Bill has now come before the people. “The US wants to interfere in the Army recruitments and promotions … and matters of ISI through Kerry-Lugar Bill,” he added.
Javed Hashmi said ISI had fought on a number of fronts for Pakistan’s defence. “If there is any shortcoming in the ISI, we will rectify it ourselves and not hand over this task to the US,” he asserted.
He said President’s support to Kerry-Lugar Bill before its tabling in the Parliament is not acceptable.
The PML-N leader said the parliament’s supremacy will have to be ensured. “Pak Army should stay within its limits,” he said. “We will protect our Army if it ensures playing the role assigned to it.”
