 Suicide attack kills four in Peshawar

Suicide attack kills four in Peshawar PESHAWAR: At least four people were killed and several others were wounded when a suicide bomber blew himself up at the main gate of Qayum Stadium after the closing ceremony of inter-provincial games here on Tuesday.

According to Geo News, relief activities have begun after the blast. The dead and injured were shifted to the hospital where emergency was declared.

According to CCPO, security has been put on high alert in the city. Four vehicles were also destroyed in the blast.

Sources told that senior NWFP minister, Bashir Ahmed Bilour narrowly escaped the suicide attack. Bilour had left the place just few seconds before the blast.

Besides, NWFP Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani, who was also the chief guest at the closing ceremony, had left the area just 10 minutes before the attack.

Meanwhile, security personnel have cordoned off the area to collect the evidences.

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani and other provincial ministers have strongly condemned the suicide attack.
