ISLAMABAD: Declaring imposition of reformed GST indispensable for survival and growth of Pakistan economy, UK has said the donors can never come forward to extend financial assistance unless the well-off segment of Pakistan is made to pay taxes, Geo News reported.
“Those who aid, also want its correct utilization,” said UK’s minister for Global Development Andrew Mitchell.
Mitchell was talking to Geo News in Islamabad. He claimed that Pakistanis will find UK leading the other donors in extending aid to flood-hit people and in providing necessities for structural rehabilitation of flood-ravaged areas.
The minister said it is equally needful that well-to-do segment of Pakistan be made to pay taxes. |
