Arrested extremists to be tried in Qazi Courts: Arshad PESHAWAR: NWFP Law Minister, Arshad Abdullah said the extremists arrested in Malakand Division will be tried in Qazi Courts under Nizam-e-Adal.

Talking to Geo News Khalid Khan in Peshawar Wednesday, the Law Minister said cases against captured extremists are being started as the jurisdiction of Anti Terrorism Ordinance (ATO) 2009 has been extended to the Provincially Administered Tribal Areas (PATA).

Extremists will be tried in Qazi Courts under Nizam-e-Adal, however they will be sentenced under ATO, the Minister said, adding, the duration of remand has been increased from 30 to 90-days as per the amendments introduced in the Ordinance.
