Probe initiated into arms deal for KP
PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has initiated investigation into alleged irregularities in arms purchase deal for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, Geo News reported. According to NAB sources, serious irregularities have been discovered in arms and ammunition purchase, worth more Rs5 billion, for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The procurement of weapons and ammunition was made during 2008 to 2010. According to these sources, KP Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti had constituted a three-member committee to investigate the matter, adding that the committee has finalized its report which reveal serious irregularities. The sources told that probe has been initiated after contacting with police officials. They added that reference would be filed against authorities concerned as soon as the committee collected the evidence.
