Ahl-e-Sunnat leader Ilyas Zubair killed, spokesman hurt KARACHI: Unknown miscreants opened fire on the leader of Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat, engineer Ilyas Zubair, killing him on the spot and critically hurting his spokesman Qari Shafiqur Rehman Alvi here late on Friday night, Geo news reported.

According to police sources, unknown miscreants, riding motorcycle, shot dead the General Secretary of Ahl-e-Sunnat Sindh engineer Ilyas Zubair near Mausoleum located in Teen Hatti locality in Karachi and left his spokesman seriously injured.

The dead body of Ilyas was initially shifted to Civil Hospital but later deposited to Edhi morgue while injured Shafiq was admitted to other local hospital for medical attainment, sources said.

His funeral prayer will be said at Jama Masjid Siddiq-e-Akbar after Zohr prayer while he will be laid to rest at Muhammad Shah graveyard, sources added.
