 Imran demands mid-term polls
Updated at: 2140 PST,  Sunday, November 22, 2009
Imran demands mid-term polls LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf chief Imran Khan Sunday demanded the government to resign en bloc and hold mid-term elections, as the names from treasury bench members appeared in National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).

Addressing a press conference here at his residence, he put up a question who would prosecute the cases of the NRO beneficiaries, saying this is a new question, as it is incumbent upon the government to follow the cases and the government officials are themselves NRO-benefited.

The PTI Chief demanded the independent prosecution and unhindered National Accountability Bureau (NAB) proceedings, saying 8000 people have been accused of misappropriation of billion of rupees.

Imran Khan also alleged an associate of President Asif Ali Zardari—Riaz Laal Gee—that he caused Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) to incur a loss worth Rs24 billion; but, he goes about scot-free.
