 ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani called a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Balochistan, headed by Senator Mian Raza Rabbani alongwith other members of the Committee here at the PM House on Monday.
Other members of the committee included Minister for Information Qamar Zaman Kaira, Minister for Petroleum Syed Naveed Qamar, Minister for Labour and Manpower Syed Khursheed Shah, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Zaheerudin Babar Awan and Minister for Water and Power Raja Pervez Ashraf.
The meeting reviewed and deliberated on the final draft of ‘Aghaz e Haqooq e Balochistan’ package prepared by the Committee in consultation with all the stakeholders and political leadership of the country.
The Aghaz e Haqooq e Balochistan will be presented in the joint sitting of the Parliament on November 24, 2009.
The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts made by the Parliamentary Committee and hoped that Aghaz e Haqooq e Balochistan being a historic step forward, would go a long way in redressing the grievances and removing the sense of deprivation among the people of Balochistan and will strengthen the federation of Pakistan. |  |
