Notification regarding dissolution of GB LBs issued GILGIT: A notification regarding the dissolution of Local Bodies system in Gilgit-Baltistan has been issued, Geo News reported Wednesday.

The deputy commissioners of the district councils have been appointed the administrators in their respective areas.

According to a notification issued from the Law Division, the 5-year term of Local Bodies governments formed in the wake of October 13, 2004 elections, is over, after which they have been dissolved.

Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan Qamaruz Zaman Kaira formally sanctioned the dissolution of the LB system.

According to another notification, the deputy commissioners of district councils would be appointed in respective six districts of Gilgit-Baltistan including Gilgit, Skardu, Diamer, Ghazar, Ghanche and Astore.
