 6 Afghan national policemen killed
Updated at: 1058 PST,  Monday, November 30, 2009
KABUL: An Afghan official says six national policemen were killed and two others were injured, when a rogue officer opened fire at a checkpoint in southwest Afghanistan.

Nimroz province Police Chief Gen. Abdul Jabar Pardeli said Monday that the shootings occurred Sunday morning in Khash Rod district. He says the suspect escaped to Dil Arm another district in the province, where he was identified by a joint Afghan National Police and Afghan National Army patrol. The patrol tried to stop the suspect, but he again opened fire. The suspect was killed in the gun battle.
