Driver, fireman booked for train mishap over negligence KARACHI: The driver and fireman of Allama Iqbal Express have been booked for negligence, leading to deadly train mishap yesterday in Landhi locality of Karachi, which left as many as 17 passengers dead and injured doubled of the causalities, Geo news reported on Wednesday.

According to Landhi police sources, the cases against train driver Ghulam Rasool and fireman Abdul Waheed was registered on the complaint of railway stationmaster under section of Pakistan Penal Codes (PPC) on rendering negligence.

“Probe into rail mishap has been kicked off following registration of cases”, police sources said adding, “At least 18 persons died and over three dozens were injured in accident, meanwhile, 17 among deceased persons have been identified”.

One of the killed persons’ corpse has been deposited at Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth locality, JPMC hospital sources said.
