 NRO buried for good: PM

NRO buried for good: PM KASOOR: Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani Saturday said the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) has been buried for good while 58-2(b) cannot be invoked because the judiciary is too strong.

He was speaking on the occasion of inauguration of an Independent Power Producer (IPP).

The Prime Minister said the democracy has just set out on its journey and it should be allowed adequate time to set its roots in the country.

He said the alliance with Pakistan Muslim League-N and Muttahida Qaumi Movement is intact.

“Pakistan wants to have better relations with all its neighbors and that evidence of Indian interference in Pakistan will be shared with the Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh on negotiations’ table,” Premeir Gilani said.

Expressing satisfaction on the progress of the ongoing operation in South Waziristan, The Prime Minister said that the operation will be completed ahead of expected duration.

He said Aitzaz Ahsan has not been offered position and that he (Aitzaz) is a senior PPP member and talks with him continue.
