Updated at: 2259 PST,  Saturday, November 08, 2008
Justice Iftikhar wants Nov 3 steps withdrawn GUJRAT: Deposed chief justice, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chuadhry Saturday linked independence of judiciary and rule of law to the withdrawal of steps taken on November 3, 2007.

Addressing Gujrat Bar before heading to Sialkot, he said the Constitution itself protects the independence of the judiciary and hoped the lawyers’ struggle would have the effect of reversing the November 3, 2007 steps.

“The lawyers are ready to pay any price for the supremacy of law and the Constitution,” he believed.
