8,30,000 children perish in accidents every year: UN NEW YORK: Globally every day over 2,000 children perish in mishaps, of which, most were deadly traffic accidents.

UN released report said that 8,30,000 children up to the age of 19 years every year die in accidents, which included 2,60,000 traffic mishaps, 1,75,000 by drowning, 96,000 burnt injury, 46,000 falling from height and 45,000 by taking poisonous food. The report said that 95 percent of those died in accidents belonged to the developing and poor countries.
