 ISTANBUL: An explosion in a coalmine in northwest Turkey killed six workers and 13 more were trapped, broadcasters reported on Friday.
The explosion, probably caused by methane gas, took place in a mine close to the city of Bursa trapping the workers underground on Thursday evening, Turk media reported.
The explosion occurred at a depth of around 250-350 metres, causing the mine to cave in and a fire to break out.
