Test cultivation of local ‘BT Cotton’ continuous KARACHI: The decision, on whether or not to import the seed from abroad, would be taken during the meeting of Punjab Seed Council (PSC) to be held in February 2010, Geo news reported.

The cultivation of 12 to 13 types of locally grown BT cotton is continued on trial basis in various parts of county, the Director General (DG) of Federal Seed Certification Department (FSCD) told Geo news.

The import of cottonseed will be decided following the results of cotton yield to be obtained from the test cultivation of locally grown cottonseed, he added.
