Updated at: 2302 PST,  Thursday, December 03, 2009
Sugar crisis: CCP to hold next hearing on Dec 15 ISLAMABAD: The government has forwarded the reference in connection with private schools and hospitals to the Competition Commission of Pakistan.

Chairman of the Commission, Khalid Mirza told the media here on Thursday that investigation process has been initiated immediately after the receipt of the above reference.

He said the Competition Commission will hold its next hearing to probe into the alleged formation of cartel of sugar millers to manipulate prices on December 16. However, Pakistan Sugar Millers Association has said that it intended to review its earlier application for exercising leniency. But the Commission has said that the application for leniency will remain part of the record.
