Pakistan win toss, elect to bat in final T20I CHRISTCHURCH: Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi won the toss and elected to to bat first in the third Twenty20 match against New Zealand in Christchurch Thursday.

Playing for pride after Pakistan lost the first two ties in the three-match series, Afridi said he wanted his team to set a competitive total on a dry-looking pitch.

Pakistan made two changes from the second match, with Abdur Rehman and Tanvir Ahmed coming in for Shoaib Akhtar and Umar Gul.

New Zealand were unchanged, with captain Ross Taylor saying he would have elected to bowl had he won the toss.

New Zealand: Ross Taylor (captain), Dean Brownlie, James Franklin, Martin Guptill, Nathan McCullum, Peter McGlashan, Kyle Mills, Adam Milne, Jesse Ryder, Tim Southee, Scott Styris, Ian Butler (12th man).
Pakistan: Mohammad Hafeez, Ahmed Shehzad, Younis Khan, Umar Akmal, Shahid Afridi (captain), Asad Shafiq, Abdul Razzaq, Wahab Riaz, Tanvir Ahmed, Saeed Ajmal, Abdur Rehman, Fawad Alam (12th man).
