SARGODHA: A special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday has reserved its judgment on bail plea of the five US nationals till tomorrow (February 17) on suspicion of plotting terror attacks in Pakistan and for their alleged connections with banned militants outfits, Geo News reported Tuesday.
The ATC Judge Mian Anwar Nazeer heard the case. The US embassy officials also witnessed the proceedings.
Before the court appearance, the detained US citizens let down tissues papers with writings on them that they are being subjected to mental torture.
Kahlid Khawja, the counsel of the US citizens told the court that he is being denied meeting with his clients; on this, the court allowed him to meet them in an adjacent room.
The court also returned the interim challan of the case, submitted by police with nod from Home Department.
According to the report, defence counsel submitted plea for bail of the arrested US nationals before the court. The court reserved its decision on the bail plea and adjourned hearing till March, 02.
The US embassy official Andre Hillary also attended the hearing in the court. |  |
