Bill presented in NA to make FBS independent body ISLAMABAD: A bill for restructuring and to make Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) an independent body has been presented in the parliament.

During a briefing, it was state that the bill will establish Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) by merging Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) with Agriculture Census Organisation (ACO) and Population Census Organisation (PCO).

The new body will have seven members three from the government while four from the private sector. FBS will use latest techniques to collect economic and social statistics. The existing staff will be trained and new professionals will be hire whereas new job rules will also established, they added.
