SC hears judges’ appointment delay cases ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) has begun hearing of petitions filed against the delay in judges’ appointment.

A five-member bench of Supreme Court headed by Justice Shakirullah Jan conducting hearing of five petitions filed against delay in judges appointment in the superior judiciary.

Akram Sheikh advocate, lawyer of one of the petitioner, said 31 judges have been appointed but still there are several vacant posts. He said government has failed to present the record of judicial consultations regarding appointment of judges in the court.

Attorney General Mansoor Khan submitted his written reply in the court and in his remarks said that petitions filed in judges’ case are based on ill- intention.

Justice Jawwad S Khawaja has directed the attorney general not to use such kind of words. Later, the hearing has been adjourned for a break.
