Kohistan tragedy death toll rises to 80 PATTAN: The death tally in District Kohistan tragedy mounted to 80, Geo News reported Saturday.

Nine people have been retrieved from the rubble.

The MNA from Kohistan Abdus Satttar told Geo News that snow avalanches hit two places in Bagrodara area of tehsil Kandia, killing 80 people; while, 9 others were recovered alive.

He said effort was made to take the helicopters along with the relief goods and the rescue team to the affected people; but, it was not possible for the copters to land owing to excessive snow there.

However, the efforts are underway to send relief goods to the affected people through alternative routes.
