 Hina Jilani declines LHC judge offer

 LAHORE: Renowned legal expert and human rights activist, Hina Jilani has declined becoming a judge of Lahore High Court (LHC).

In a thank you not addressed to Chief Justice LHC, Hina Jilani said she happened to be the sister of Asma Jehangir, who is President Supreme Court Bar Association and holds a certain points of view with regard to the government and judiciary. Moreover, she added that she herself was working as a human rights activist. Therefore, it was difficult for her to accept the position of a judge.

However, she thanked the LHC Chief Justice for recommending her name for the position.
